01 · Professional profile

A broad technical foundation, now focused on infrastructure.

I am a hands-on IT Field Engineer and support technician with experience developed through repair benches, customer premises, independent service work and structured homelab practice.

I began with computer and mobile-device diagnosis and repair, learning to isolate faults rather than replace equipment without investigation. I later expanded into routers, wireless networks, CCTV, recording systems and onsite installation. My current field engineering work has strengthened my ability to follow technical instructions, work independently at client sites, communicate with users and document completed work.

My infrastructure development now covers Cisco IOS and MikroTik RouterOS, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPNs, switching and routing labs, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Linux services, virtualisation and network security appliances. I use real equipment alongside VMware, EVE-NG and Cisco Packet Tracer so that configuration practice includes physical cabling, endpoint behaviour and genuine troubleshooting.

I am particularly suited to roles where an engineer must look beyond one layer of a fault: checking the user’s symptoms, endpoint, drivers, operating system, cabling, switch port, addressing, DHCP, routing, firewall rules and connected services before reaching a conclusion.

09 · Professional interests

Why I continue building.

I am interested in infrastructure that remains understandable and supportable after installation: sensible addressing, clean cabling, controlled access, configuration backups and documentation that another engineer can follow.

My long-term goal is to combine UK field and infrastructure experience with a practical managed IT and electronic-security business serving SMEs and communities. That makes networking, Microsoft environments, Linux services, secure remote support and physical installation commercially relevant to me—not merely subjects for certification.

I also retain the repair-first mindset developed through years of break/fix work: investigate the cause, preserve useful equipment where sensible and recommend solutions based on the actual fault.
